Why is it when the get to plus sizing the expand the pattern everywhere -- I don't need longer shoulders, and some areas just don't need to expand evenly everywhere. I've been trying to pick my pattern size based on the high bust, then alter the sleeves, waist, etc if I need the extra room. I means lots of measuring the pattern, and comparing as I go. -- I also find I like a lighter weave shirt fabric (I'm a cotton lawn hoarder) the lighter weave seems to look better on me.LauraMhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08646972991522827672noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7703415315027612176.post-35347358864509890382013-05-02T11:18:09.661-04:002013-05-02T11:18:09.661-04:00That pocket is so wonderful. The pocket is a great detail but like a couple of other commenters, I agree that the shoulders and especially the sleeves seem somewhat big on you. I used to have that problem too until I realized that I have very narrow sloped shoulders that really need a much smaller size than the rest of me! It's much easier to increase for the bust and tummy than to narrow the shoulder and neck area. You are so right that knits are simpler to fit and more comfortable to wear!Louisahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11685532773952211627noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7703415315027612176.post-51292080128810512732013-04-26T22:02:34.994-04:002013-04-26T22:02:34.994-04:00Love the pockets and stripe fabric of the shirt. I have no plans to make any shirts anytime soon, as I really prefer knits. Attach some shoulder pads as they will help pull up the fabric from the underarm area and give you more balance. Fisheye darts in the back only will help with the front fit and hang. Next time though move the sleeves in about 1.5 inches so they sit on your real shoulder. The bicep area looks large enough to fit the new opening and it could use a little tapering. This shirt could double as a jacket over a turtleneck too so more chances to display your great sewing!mrsmolehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16329515914613595719noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7703415315027612176.post-12266221701434675982013-04-25T02:26:49.245-04:002013-04-25T02:26:49.245-04:00It's always nice to see a post from you :) L...It's always nice to see a post from you :) Love the knit top on you, and I'm TOTALLY in love with that pocket!

I'm no help at all with the fitting issues....I have a hard enough time fitting me, and I'm just grateful that I don't need to figure out an FBA - ever! lolJillybejoyfulhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11010866113928621691noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7703415315027612176.post-77831084692906259892013-04-25T00:01:22.616-04:002013-04-25T00:01:22.616-04:00I agree with Andrea, a fba and princess seams migh...I agree with Andrea, a fba and princess seams might work better for you with woven fabrics. And it's a little too big under the arms. I'd do the fisheye darts except I need the space for my large midriff, waist and belly. I think I'll just stay away from shirts for now!Dixiehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14712003004658269721noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7703415315027612176.post-14562614442209303132013-04-24T23:29:17.810-04:002013-04-24T23:29:17.810-04:00Thanks, Elle. My thoughts on the woven - I can't tell if the blouse has darts, but if it does not, it could benefit from an FBA and darts. Also maybe some fisheye darts in the front vertically to take out some of the excess fabric under the bust. Overall it looks a bit big on you. It's hard to tell in the pics, but is it too big in the shoulders? Being of the busty persuasion myself, the only kind of blouse I like on me is a shoulder princess. Other styles just don't fit well. That pocket is awesome!
